St George’s Bloomsbury is available to hire for evening
concerts, book launches and private views of the church.
Other events will be considered if they are sympathetic to a consecrated building. Recently restored to Hawksmoor's original design, this magnificent Baroque space is at once grand and austere, spacious yet intimate.
The church has an excellent acoustic (approximately 3s
with audience) and seats 180 people on custom-made
pews which can be set out in a variety of different seating
patterns (each of which offers clear sightlines to the
performance area for all members of the audience). Additional seating could increase the capacity to about 220 people.
Artists/groups are welcome to use the organ (modern
electric organ) and/or the piano (19th Century Bechstein
grand) by arrangement. We are happy to arrange for the
piano to be tuned in advance of your concert; this will
incur an additional charge.
Evening hire of St George’s Bloomsbury currently includes
complimentary use of the Vestry House as a Front of
House area / space to serve refreshments.
